THERE WASN'T an empty seat
in the house at Café de Paris as 38 young women from across
the UK stepped up to the catwalk in their bid to represent the UK
at Miss Universe 2008.
The overall winner was Lisa Lazarus, a 20 year old radiology student
and part-time model from Llanelli. In second place was Holly Hill
from Brighton with third place going to Jamie Lee Williams from
Powys.
A number of spot prizes were also awarded. Kertreena Williams from
London won Best Hair, which was presented by competition hair sponsors
City Colour and Cuts. Dress-Stop.com gave the prize for Best Evening
Wear to Samantha Del Grecco from Bath, while Miss Charity went to
Sarah Rowlands from mid-Wales.
Paula Abbandonato, PR Director of Vibe Models, said: “We
are thrilled with our winner and delighted to have raised so much
for charity at the same time. It’s been a very exciting year
and we wish Lisa the best of luck at Miss Universe in June.
“Our thanks go to all our sponsors for making the competition
such a great occasion and for providing the platform which has allowed
us all to do so much for The Joshua Foundation.” |
